The present paper aims to examine the Sino-Iranian conventional military relationship under President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad during the years between 2005 and 2013. The study has attempted to briefly answer the question that how Tehran has continued to build stronger defense capability with the help of Beijing despite the American hegemonic, anti-Iranian policies. The paper has theoretically adopted a realist approach to International Relations and is methodologically based on document analysis. As the paper argues, despite the Western sanctions and U.S containment strategy against the Islamic Republic, Ahmadinejad's Iran, in line with its look to the East approach to foreign relations, successfully developed its indigenous military technology capability further through cooperation with the emerging powers such as the People's Republic of China on the basis of pragmatic calculations of power and interest.

Using caption in teaching English as a second language has had its particular advocates throughout the history of language teaching. The present study intends to examine the potential effectiveness of captioned inputs for comprehension of English idiomatic expressions among EFL intermediate learners. It is set to determine how captioned inputs result in comprehension of English idiomatic expressions in comparison with non-captioned inputs. To this end, the Oxford Placement Test (OPT) was administered to 82 students in an English Institute of Shahrekord, Iran, to find out their English proficiency levels. The participants took a test of 40 multiple-choice items as a pretest to determine their background knowledge in English idioms. The questionnaire data revealed that learners who used captions could promote their attention and improved their learning processing. A reliable posttest was administered after teaching fifteen units of their English textbook during 15 weeks. The mean score by Kolmogorov-Smirnov showed the group using captioned slides of English idiomatic expressions outperformed the other group.

As a concept related to several scientific fields such as accounting, economics, finance and law, corporate governance motivates the individual and accumulative goals and reinforces the effective application of the resources and necessitates the responsiveness to the other stakeholders. Furthermore, implementing corporate governance might lead to the optimum allocation of the resources and enhancement of the information transparency and economic growth. This study investigates the impact of some corporate governance mechanisms on the firm value by comparing the value and usage of the cash holdings with the weak and strong corporate governance systems. The employed corporate governance mechanisms in this study are composed of the institutional ownership of the stocks, ownership concentration and CEO duality. To measure the firm value in terms of the value of the cash holding, the difference between the annual stock returns and the return of the three factor Fama-French model has been employed. The sample is composed of 102 listed firms on the Tehran Stock Exchange during a period from 2005 to 2009. Multivariate regression and Pearson correlation coefficients are used to test the research hypotheses. The findings reveal that the concentration of the institutional ownership and CEO duality are significantly and directly associated with the firm value.

Wahhabism is a movement emerged in the 4th century by Ahmad ibnTaymiyyah, revived and developed during the 8th century by Muhammad ibnAbd al-Wahhab. Receiving support from western countries, this movement was officially recognized in Saudi Arabia in the 12th century. Today, Wahhabism has begun its activities in Khuzestan province with the aim of provoking ethnic division and weakening beliefs of the Arabs of this region. Unfortunately, lack of sufficient means of comfort and existenceof cultural gaps along with poor religious and ideological education have led to the recruitment of needy people and addicts by this sect. Although very few people are recruited to Wahhabism, this political-ideological movement shouldn’t be underestimated and effective measures must be adopted for countering Wahhabi sect. Considering the activities of Wahhabism during the recent years in Khuzestan province, this paper examines propagation methods ofWahhabism and presents some recommendations for solving this problem in the province.
